ANTARES Project APS is a newcomer non-profit association, born from the desire of a group of people to unite their different professional skills and experiences to bring about significant and positive changes in the local community. ANTARES, in fact, has its headquarters in Scalea, a small coastal town in Calabria, in Southern Italy. Thanks to its wonderful sea and the coasts that run along it for several kilometers, it has a strong tourist vocation, especially seaside, which in the last 20 years has attracted many tourists from all over the world. Furthermore, Scalea has become a place of residence for many communities, Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian, Pakistani and Indian. Despite this "openness", the local community is faced with socioeconomic and geographical barriers that are somewhat typical of Southern Italy, but amplified above all by the lack of diversified infrastructure, recreational and equipped sports places, which affect employability, culture and education. The aim of Antares is to intervene on these gaps through social, cultural, sports, integration and training activities, especially on young targets, trying to transmit to the new generations those skills, awareness and values shared in the EU. ANTARES deals with the following activities: • Promote culture, legality and rights, music, entertainment and the arts in general, which act as a tool for social inclusion, training and prevention, especially of marginalized groups (socio-economic, cultural and geographical barriers), to prevent the risks of social isolation and marginalization. • Promote the territory, its historical, artistic, environmental, natural, cultural and food and wine value, including the promotion of origins tourism and slow tourism as a rediscovery of natural and cultural places. • Promote healthy lifestyles through the promotion of sport in all its forms, environmental protection and healthy eating. . In the field of sport its staff has instructors specialized in cycling and equestrian sports. • Design and implement mentoring and orientation courses, courses for strengthening basic skills, motivation, support and training and laboratory courses for male and female students, for the prevention school dropout risk. • Promote international relations between peoples, to encourage multiculturalism, multilingualism and the exchange of good practices. • Promote the training of its staff, the exchange of good practices and shared values with other international organizations, to bring added value to the daily activities of the organization. ANTARES is made up of a highly motivated team of experts in various sectors and volunteers who come from different fields ranging from environmental protection, youth associations, technical-sports training, and planning
