MKUD Kladivo 11 (Hammer11)

MKUD Kladivo 11 is a Youth Cultural and Artistic Society from Zreče, Slovenia. It was established by a group of young people aged from 20 to 30 in 2011 after the Public Youth Center was closed in 2007. The main purposes of MKUD 11 are rising the quality of youngsters free time and offering them non formal education with aim of improving employment chances of youngstres. So far we have organized diverse workshops (how to make a video, photo course, poetry nights, use of digital programs, playing acoustic music, producing music, movie projection technologies ) and actions (EKO actions- cleaning the local river, space around the MKUD 11, volunteer painting). There are 45 members, mostly young active people. In 2012 our youth initiative Mladi za boljše jutri was funded by MOVIT Erasmus+ National Agency YOUTH FIELD and it enabled us to adapt and equip spaces for youngsters under the local kindergarten. In our premises youngsters can spend their time and socialize with each other. Small working class town Zreče does not have so high standard of education, so youngsters are growing up with not many abilities to be creative and to be better global citizens, that is also causing obstacles in our work with youngsters. We wish to improve the influence of working class intelect, and join it with fresh modern way of thinking.
