Cre8ive8 Youth Media Production is a youth organisation that brings together young active high school & university students and provides them a chance to express their ideas and induce a positive impact through film & media. Cre8ive8 was established in 2004 as a project initiated by the British Council Macedonia. In 2008 Cre8ive8 was registered as an independent non-governmental organisation completely lead and managed by young people and youth professionals. The mission of Cre8ive8 is to inspire and empower young people and, thus, encourage them to promote their voice and make a difference in their and other people's lives by using film and various multimedia forms. Every single piece of work done by Cre8ive8 sends out a message that provokes a positive view, challenges stereotypes and the negative perceptions of the everyday life of young people. Cre8ive8 Youth Media Production is an organisation completely led and organised by young people. The whole organisation work is divided between the members and the Cre8ive8 Management Board, consisted of young people and youth professionals, which are responsible for the strategic planning, organising and implementing the projects. The main motto of Cre8ive8 is: By young people for young people. The profile of the Cre8ive8 members is diverse, including more than 20 people all from different backgrounds. Besides the members who are directly involved, Cre8ive8 operates with a network of more than 120 young trainees from all around Europe. What is essential and one of the most recognizable trait of our organisation is our dedication to projects that involve young people, especially those that require awareness raising, as we know that the most positive influence media can have, is that of an educator and animator of youth. The activities of Cre8ive8 are take place on local, regional & international level. When it comes to international work, Cre8ive8 has been involved in a number of international projects in UK, Belgium, Albania, Bulgaria and many projects in Macedonia, which have involved people from all around Europe. Concerning the experience in the course organisation, Cre8ive8 has already organised more than 10 workshops for young people in Macedonia, provided media trainings for young people in the UK as part of the ‘Gifted & Talented Project’ 2006, media trainings for young people from 11 different countries as part of a pilot Olympic Project ‘Youth, Sport, Action’ in 2007, trained a group from Bosnia & Herzegovina as part of the British Council ‘Leap of Faith Together’ Project 2008 and many others. Cre8ive8 has also organised 3 projects as part of our engagement with the Youth in Action Programme, “Let’s cre8 together”, “Digitales – Tell Your Story” and “We cr8 the climate”. There are a number of prominent awards connected with the name of Cre8ive8: 1st place on the international 1 minute video contest run by UNICEF ‘Voices of youth’ in 2005, ranking 3rd for the People’s choice award at 2006 GDLN World Forum, in Washington DC followed by People’s Choice Award on the Skopje Film Festival 2008.
