EGE UNIVERSITY CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTER

The center for Lifelong Learning of Ege University (EGESEM, www.egesem.org) was established in 2001, is the partner of The European Association for University Lifelong Learning (EUCEN- http://www.eucen.org). EGESEM has two management boards; Administrative council members (7 person from University staff) are responsible to organize/coordinate and evaluate the special and qualified optional training programs for the people aged 0 to death and by this way contributing to provide a better social environment and a more qualified life for all sections of the population. Advisory board members from non-governmental organizations in Izmir and representatives of several faculties of Ege University, has the main role to define the educational needs of different sectors (tourism, agriculture, industry etc.) of the region. Ege University personnel, academics, students as well as the general public (children, youth, elderly, educated or uneducated) are in the target of the education programs. The mission of EGESEM is to organize/coordinate and evaluate the special and qualified optional life long learning training programs for the people aged 0 to death and by this way contributing to provide a better social environment and a more qualified life for all sections of the population . Educational programs are organized according to the economical and social needs of the region
