ASSOCIAZIONE GLOCAL

Glocal is a NGO organization based in the city of Como in Lombardia (Northern Italy). Their members are experienced professionals of different disciplines (Psychology, Anthropology, Primary Education, Social Science, Linguistic and Philosophy) having in common a deep knowledge of social issues and a long-time fieldwork. Over the last years as professionals we focused our activities on projects helping individuals belonging to the weakest social groups of our community: Italian and foreigner NEET youth, juvenile probation, problematic families and refugees. Through a variety of different interventions (coaching, tutoring, psychological support, counselling) we tried to integrate these people in projects promoting sport, street art and music which lead to a positive change in their life and through our network of public institutions we could give them the vocational guidance and support necessary to have a new chance in their educational path or in the labour market. We have been working for many years with some local sport associations with the aim to promote social cohesion, diversity and multiculturalism sensibility in formal and informal contexts. In this project our psychologist, tutors and counsellor will be involved into the exchange of best practices with foreign partners and training of youth leaving for other partners countries. The project manager will take part to: the general management, the development of the detailed planning of the main activities, the coordination of other members of the association, the organization of the main public events. Our professionals in Anthropology and Social Science will contribute with their research on-the-field to create a network of local sport associations supporting and involving the project’s target and they will spread the results of their work during the different local events.
