Desert Bloom

The history of Desert Bloom goes back to around the end of the second millennium, when a group of vibrant youth launched a community empowerment initiative to improve graduates' life and professional skills. In 2002 the initiative expanded its activities to respond to the repercussions of 2001 world Trade Center tragedy to restore trust and confront the growing hatred and misunderstanding between Western and Arab worlds. Our Vision A just, peaceful and inclusive world where resources are shared, our common humanity is cherished, and everyone is empowered to contribute to positive change. Our Mission: Optimizing people's potentials to contribute to world peace and sustainable development. Our Purpose: Create a better future through Intercultural Understanding, Volunteerism & Global Citizenship Education. We reinforce global competencies and universal morality to prepare people for an inclusive and sustainable world. We empower youth to enable them to take greater control of their own lives and to actively engage in confronting economic, political, social and environmental challenges. Our Activities : - Capacity development and economic empowerment - Intercultural dialogue and learning - International voluntary work camps (Workcamp) - Peace-building and conflict transformation
