The mission of the ID20 Institute is to develop and safeguard cultural heritage in rural and peripheral (former industrial) areas with innovative approaches that bring elements of storytelling, regional development and youth work. Our organisation is located in the UNESCO Heritage Town Idrija in Western Slovenia, famous for its industrial heritage and culture. Based on 2 heritage spaces, a Giser miners' house and a former engine room of the shaft Inzaghi, we're building our story on the narrative of the people, workers, women, and young people who believe(d) in the place and its future. Each year, the stories of the industrial culture of Idrija are brought to life by 2 festivals organised by us – the Idrija Žlikrofi Gastronomy Festival and the Betrib festival of industrial culture, part of the official programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 - Gorica/Gorizia.
