DVX ANTICAE

DVX ANTICAE is a non-profit association for public benefit. The association engages in the re-enactment of important historical events on the Roman Danube Limes, focussing on the period of Roman late antiquity. The associations activities centre around intangible cultural heritage, historic crafts, antique material culture, the development and implementation of training and educational activities in relation to Danube Limes sites and the organisation of events which target local and national audiences. The association seeks to participate in the development of a European network of living history initiatives, which promote exchange and a better understanding of the common European, Black Sea and Mediterranean heritage of late antiquity. DVX ANTICAE works with all age groups and all social backgrounds. The mission of the group is to create tangible interest in the heritage of Roman late antiquity and the heritage sites associated with this period. The hands on living history approach of the organisation has proven to be an effective vehicle of learning, accessible to a wide array of audience profiles. The association has 6 years of experience in this field.
