Dom Kultury "KADR"

Dom Kultury "KADR" is one of the most modern cultural institutions in Warsaw. It was created in 1979 thanks to a grassroots social initiative. During the first years of ist activity, the film specialisation was of particular importance. Nowadays, KADR is an innovative and open to diversity place that draws on different fields of art. Moreover, it integrates the local community. It is over 7,000 sq m. of modern space that contains 15 thematic workshops, an auditorium, a recording studio, and a photographic studio. In this space, there are 96 educational and artistic groups led by 53 instructors. We have more than 1300 visitors weekly. Watch videos: - teaser of our new headquarter https://tiny.pl/wjhd1 - promotional spot https://tiny.pl/wjhdn Our goals: - organising activities that contribute to the cultural and social development of children, teenagers, and adults; promoting lifelong learning; - raising cultural awareness of the residents of Warsaw regardless of their age or nationality; - creating a platform for dialogue between modernity and tradition, historical, cultural, and environmental heritage and ICT Information&Communication Technologies; - creating possibilities for young people to cooperate on the local, domestic and international levels. The integral part of KADR is two neighbourhood houses Akapit (for teenagers) and Akumulator (for adults) - those places have been entirely given to the Mokotow inhabitants. By pursuing its goals, DK KADR cooperates with neighbourhood groups, non-formal teenagers groups, educational establishments, non-governmental organisations, and cultural institutions. Our working methods are deeply rooted in the European core values, such as the respect for human rights, democracy, gender equality, ecological awareness, intercultural tolerance and solidarity between the people.
