Association for the Support of Physically Handicapped Children, Romania Valcea Branch

The purpose of our association is to act in the direction of improving the living conditions of children and young people with disabilities, as well as the families who take care of them. Since 2005, by submitting projects, we have benefited from a subsidy under Law 34/1998 from the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity. With the help of this grant, we ran the project "Assistance and support service for children/young people with disabilities" In this project, the children benefited from physical therapy, reflexology, psychopedagogy, socio-educational integration programs, speech therapy, social counseling. The focus is on social inclusion and equalizing children's opportunities for education and community services. The services provided consist of: - neuromotor recovery: physical therapy, reflexology, psychopedagogy - socio-educational integration programs; - speech therapy - social assistance/social counseling. The assisted persons are residents of Rm-Valcea city, Olanesti, Ocnele Mari. in addition to the previously mentioned activities, our organization also organizes: 1. Socialization activities: excursions, camps, cultural-artistic events on the occasion of: June 1, Christmas, March 8, etc.; various meetings with specialists and representatives of local public authorities, etc. and within the "Mothers Club" and the "Youth Club"; 2. Social assistance activities - material support given to families in need (food, absorbent materials, hygiene products, means of walking: walking frames, crutches, wheelchairs, etc...); At the moment, the association has 10 employees, of which 8 are specialists and 2 people on administrative activities (economist/accountant and cashier/secretary) The person who is a cashier/secretary knows English. The 8 people who work with children/young people have the following specializations: -3 psycho pedagogical ladies; -1 physical therapist; -1 social assistant; -1 teacher/teacher; -2 psychologists.
