Orizzonti Social Cooperative was founded in 2003 by a group of Intercultural Mediators, Linguistic Facilitators and Psychologists, committed to the field of intercultural relations who identify with a person-centered project of human promotion and social integration that holds the interchange between cultures in the highest regard. It aims to foster the redefinition of Italian cultural identity, as well as to promote the interchange between "other" cultures, through the creation and management of projects, the implementation of interventions and the provision of services that refer to the principles of interculturality; to pay constant attention to the cultural transformations taking place, with the aim of facilitating change; to combine the criteria of efficiency and rational use of resources with attitudes based on solidarity, listening, and empathy. The cooperative's activities include: the creation and management of projects aimed at developing services centered on the social integration needs of people who, partly because of their cultural diversity, find themselves living in conditions of hardship, disadvantage and/or marginalization;the realization of interventions and the provision, on its own account or on behalf of third parties, of educational, social-health, welfare and animation services aimed at people of both Italian and foreign nationality, in a condition of disadvantage and/or hardship also of a social nature, with the aim of promoting their autonomy, social integration and cultural growth.
