BG world

The informal group "BG World" was born from the five-year collaboration of seven young individuals engaged in educational projects connected to the youth center of Romano di Lombardia (BG), such as summer camps for children and adolescents, winter and summer camps, as well as cultural and recreational events throughout the year. The young members, all aged between 20 and 28, come from diverse educational backgrounds but are united by their field experience in non-formal education, gained during their high school and university years. The group's name combines "BG" - the abbreviation for the province of Bergamo, with "World" - indicating both a sense of local belonging and rootedness, while constantly reaching out towards a much broader European and international horizon. The group is thus rooted in local development and carries out actions to foster the active participation of young citizens. Additionally, both as individuals and as a group, they have a keen interest in travel experiences and international mobility. The aims of our informal group are: a) To manage and develop training and international mobility projects for young people and educators working in the youth sector. b) To promote projects of social interest by raising awareness and promoting values through formal and non-formal education. c) To defend the rights and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and/or special needs. d) To promote equal opportunities between men and women. e) To promote the participation and presence of women in political, economic, cultural, and social life. f) To promote volunteering. g) To encourage collaboration and cooperation with other entities operating in the same field, with the aim of fostering networking and experience exchange. The informal group is currently involved in an Erasmus+ project under the DiscoverEU for inclusion action, with the trip scheduled to take place in the coming months. The group is currently collaborating with the municipal administration of Covo for the implementation of this and future projects and has an informal network of collaborators who are occasionally involved to provide support in both educational and logistical-organizational areas.
