Particularly in the areas of violence prevention, crisis and conflict management and democratic school development. With our initiatives, projects and programs, we support individuals and institutions in strengthening their skills in dealing with conflict and crisis situations so that they can find and implement non-violent strategies to resolve them. To this end, we cooperate with organizations such as schools and youth welfare offices. SELAM-Berlin gUG supports these schools in fulfilling their educational mandate as part of the "Youth Social Work at Berlin Schools" program. With preventative and interventional services, our social workers help to ensure that pupils learn together, that disadvantages are reduced and that participation and equal opportunities are created at the cooperating schools. We also offer assistance to families and adolescents with few opportunities or difficulties in their development. The type of assistance is based on the individual needs of the family members, which are described in detail in the assistance plan and agreed upon in a binding manner with all parties involved. All services, such as socio-pedagogical counseling, accompaniment and recreational activities, are carried out taking into account lifeworld-oriented approaches.
