Arganda del Rey City Council

Arganda City Council (Ayuntamiento de Arganda del Rey) is the public organization of the State Administration responsible of local activities. Generally speaking, the city council focuses on those services and infrastructures that are essential for citizens. These services are delivered by Departments including: 1. Local police and law enforcement; 2. Environmental services such as water and waste management, forestry, gardens and parks, environmental monitoring of economic activities; 3. Cultural services such as “House of Culture”, public library, courses, theatre, festivals; 4. Educational services such as kindergarten, school maintenance; 5. Social services such as services for less-favoured people, support for handicapped people, in-house services for elderly people; 6. Urban planning and management, including also monitoring of building, land-use classification and checking, and eventually discipline; 7. Facilities management, such as public lighting, pipelines, paving, and other related ones; monitoring of activities carried out by private facility companies (such as electricity , phone or gas) is also included; 8. Building and maintenance of municipal dependencies (building, headquarters, warehouses), streets and pathways; 9. Public transport, by means of buses; 10. Sport services, including maintenance of sport public pavilions, courts, swimming-pools and other facilities. Courses and sport schools are also included; 11. Main festive activities, including music, bullfighting, children games, or other entertainment facilities, usually cooperating with local associations or collectives; 12. Economic promotion of the city, including development of real estate for industrial use, attracting external investment to the city, trade fairs, support for new business and entrepreneurs.
