EA Planetum

In the course of its thirteen year existence EA Planetum has implemented numerous projects, and most of them related to solid waste management issues that are present in our region. Most of the projects that were implemented consisted of research and analysis regarding certain types of solid waste in order to obtain more adequate and qualitative data from the field about solid waste and management of the same. Important component of all project activities of Planetum is the public education about waste generation, their effect on the environment and the ways to prevent those negative effects that is how the waste should be managed. As a result of our researches and analysis a number of educative brochures were produced for certain types of waste with a content that was presented for the first time to the public in Macedonia. From the education aspect, the campaigns educated significant number of citizens on national level and the education activities were adjusted according to the age structure. Part of EA Planetum project activities were focused on development of alternative forms of tourism in the Strumica region. It is very important to mention that all activities included also capacity building of tourist workers in order to improve the hospitality services. For achieving that goal several sommelier workshops and trainings have been prepared and implemented. Beside this, the EA Planetum has worked on improvement of the urban development of City of Strumica trough the Program of increasing and arranging the green areas, as well as the program for marking bicycle paths in the Municipality and usage of the bicycle as alternative transportation mean. In partnership with EVN Macedonia, in the last few years, Planetum is implementing the education project for the children from the primary schools for Energy efficiency. Youth program EA Planetum is aimed at all young people who are interested in new ways of educating, promoting human rights, protection of environment. Youth program are realizing by different activities giving priority to non formal education, art, organizing trainings, youth exchange, summer camps and etc.
