Provincial Education Directorate in Mersin is the highest education authority in the Province under the Governorship of Mersin incorporating and executing all the districts Directorate of Education are responsible for executing and monitoring all formal and non-formal education and training services under its constitution in the Province and in 13 districts on behalf of the Ministry of National Education. Apart from executing and realizing the educational activities as a representative for the Ministry of National Education, we have a lot of experiences in terms of projects, campaigns ,quality studies at local ,national and international level as well as the Projects and host participants from EU countries for Study Visits with some intervals to stimulate all related institutions and schools to develop more cooperation as a means of a more active knowledge society combining relative strength from various partners. Mersin MEM maintains activities regularly for teachers, learners, parents, volunteers composed youngsters and shortly anyone from childhood to adult. Besides these activities, regional, national and international projects produce, enforce and develop partnership on identified with different titles and topics. Every individual who lives in Mersin from nursery till the age of walking and in need of educational activities. We care for especially young people who are disadvantaged in social, economic, geographical, etc. disabled, special needs children, old persons, refugee and minority classes, at risk of exclusion. Our institution aims at both working on finding solutions for better educational activities for the learners with differences in the society and contributing to their development without any charge. Besides, we carry on our works for popularizing the volunteering between the youth and being high level of participation in volunteering activities. We also aim to have a vision for being a pioneering organisation, open to Communication and sharing effectively, to work cooperatively between the institutions, to use the existing sources (human, time, physical conditions) effectively, to reduce the social and cultural differences considering the immigrant population. Promoting the partnerships and educational benefits, the Education Directorate and educational institutions have the examples of good practice in order to deal with lack of funding and financial reserves. The private sector, for instance, takes its social responsibility towards the children, the future population and education.
