Koda Community Education Center (Koda CEC) is a non-profit organisation. It was established in January 2010 by the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (DVV-International) in the framework of EC funded project: ”Support to social-economic integration of IDPs(Internaly Displaced People) in Kvemo Kartli region”. In 2008 after Russia-Georgia war, about 2000 internally displaced people from South Ossetia and Abkhazia were settled in the village Koda”. Koda CEC operates as the first non-formal education center in whole Tetritskaro municipality. The organisation is implementing vocational education and personal development programs for adults and youth. It advocates: learning through peer-education training and workshops on art and management; healthy lifestyle by organizing outdoor activities, voluntary clubs; democratic principles by offering training about human rights; debate club; environmentally conscious behavior by raising public awareness about environmental issues. The main goals of Koda CEC: - support to municipality development - implementation of non-formal education programs; - support to municipality unemployment problem solution; - support to integration of IDPs in local community; - support to youth and children development; - promotion of active citizenship; - advocacy of IDPs rights and interests on local level; Koda Community Education Center provides free regular training-seminars for young people living in IDP settlement. The youth (age 14-29) attend weekly training, such as: Gender equality training, healthy lifestyle, leadership, tolerance, children rights, advocacy etc. The organisation supports voluntarism and hosts volunteers from different countries.
