Turing School

Turing Society is a social-enterprise, focused to make world class tech education available to all. Since our beginning, we grew to an international organisation, with teams in Lithuania, The Netherlands and Mexico working towards the common vision of education. As a non-profit, we run coding workshops, courses, public events and build communities around them. Through our work in this field we have found one key element: it is best to let students do the learning themselves. It is naive to say we can prepare our students for their future. Instead, we say we are preparing them to be able to successfully adapt to whatever the future might be. Which makes our students future-proof. In our path to achieve this, we have developed three main principals: independent studying, peer-to-peer learning and community. A true education must come from a community, it must be a two-way stream of ideas, shared in a dialog. In our society we base everything on dialogs and human . In Lithunia we work with students aged 13-24. During the classes they learn coding in a non-formal way with an effective teachers' assistance, therefore students feel a high motivation to continue learning process. School students get to know basics at first, afterwords focusing to the themes they like most. Our programme is based on Harwad University CS50 courses - "Introduction to computer sciense" - one of the best computer sciense programmes worldwide. University students can attend to our coding workshops and do both: get introduced to programming if never did it before or deepen the knowledge of some specific topics. They also participate in conferences and do networking what leads to finding s and making partnerships. As Turing Society we also accomplish open to public projects related to technologies and education. We involve people into finding tools to solve problems through tech, with the ultimate goal to accelerate them. The most resent projects focused to health, tourisim and developement of the regions of Lithuania. Turing Society seeks to create a community based tech education system. We are open to everyone who looks at the same direction as we do. That is why people from Turing Society work in 2 different continents: Europe and America. We appreciate differences, which make us stronger. If you feel like Turing Society could be a part of your life, join us and change the education together.
