Vecpiebalga Municipality

Vecpiebalga Municipality is organizing youth work in Vecpiebalga County, Latvia. To perform this function Vecpiebalga Municipality has created Department on Youth Affairs, what is the main tool of Vecpiebalga Municipality's work with young people. The Department is coordinating youth affairs in the Municipality, coordinating EVS and youth exchange projects within program "ERASMUS+", participating in international activities and managing the work of Vecpiebalga Youth Centre "Balgas Strops" and Dzerbene Youth Centre. The goal of the Department is to promote Vecpiebalga County's youth initiatives, their participation in decision making and social life. The Department is working to diversify youth free time activities, to promote youth awareness and participation, non-formal education, intercultural communication and volunteering. The Department is working with young people aged 13 - 25 who live in rural area, have fewer opportunities and are in view of police, who go to school unwillingly and unemployed young people.
