"EDUFONS - Center for lifelong education"

Association “EDUFONS - Center for lifelong education“ is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded to strenghten social community through lifelong education, improvement of information flow, promotion of active democratic citzenship, respect for diversity, public advocacy and constantly influencing on society to gain required key competences. The organization fosters and advocates volunteerism as a master builder form (especially youth mobility, activism and volunteerism) based on the ideas of self-help, mutual aid and philanthropy. Recognizing their own potential and energy that can initiate some changes, eight women with University degree were gathered in 2015 to found an association. They have big experience in their professions and participated in many project focused on student exchange, civil activism, vulnerable groups, especially Roma people that were realized by other CSOs, public performances, debates, training, workshops, national and international conferences, awareness and advocacy campaigns. Activities of the association are aimed at empowering the inhabitants of Serbia to become active in their community (non-formal education, intercultural learning, advocacy, networking and joining European initiatives), and they take place through periodic gatherings, participation in official internet forums and realization of projects in accordance with the law and goals of the association. The Association implements and supports the following types of activities: public debates, round tables, workshops, seminars, international meetings, educational programs, research and publishing activities, public and media campaigns, applied research (politics, economics, law). The organization has good cooperation with Association „Intercultura AFS Serbia“ through volunteer work in high school student exchange. An excellent cooperation with local NGOs with similar interests in terms of experience exchange and support on the topic of human rights, the rights of minorities and women, youth activism, volunteerism and mobility, self-organization, informal and non-formal education. Also, we are cooperating with the Youth Office of Novi Bečej, local self-governments, educational institutions exchanging information, experience and mutual assistance.
