AED (Aile Egitim Dernegi)

AED Goals - Building bridges of tolerance, understanding, acceptance and appreciation for different cultures. - Providing quality educational programs for children and young people in order to help prepare them for their future roles. - Improving the quality of life of those who are disadvantaged through the distribution of goods, entertaining and morale boosting programs as well as physical improvements in the institutions in which they reside. - Providing volunteering opportunities and training for all who wish to use their talents to help the community, both through European Voluntary Services (EVS) and through other local and international volunteering initiatives. AED activities - English courses and interactive learning programs for refugees and orphans - Fine arts education (such as art, music and dancing) for children with fewer economic opportunities - Working with mentally disabled children to help them develop their social and creative skills - Benefit concerts promoting intercultural learning - Promoting social corporate responsibility and awareness by acting as a liaison between institutions in need of support (financial or in kind) and companies/individuals with the capacity and desire to support them - Renovation and mural painting projects in hospitals, orphanages and centers for disabled children - Caring for the elderly and providing physical activities to promote health and wellness - Organizing environmental clean-up drives and promoting environmental awareness - Providing opportunities, coordination and training for young people who wish to gain experience in social and volunteer work AED Staff AED staff is composed primarily of young people (Turkish, European, and from other countries around the world) who contribute to AED's projects according to their talents/interests/abilities. The projects that AED is engaged in is based primarily on the volunteers' collective pool of talent (i.e. music, art, administration, teaching, etc.) which are incorporated into the projects that AED decides to take on and the institutions that AED chooses to support with services and volunteers.
