His particular name in Italian represents a derogatory way of indicating people from Southern Italy. It became the name of the team precisely to try to give a different meaning to that name, making it almost a badge of honor. The team is now composed from people coming from all over the world. In fact Terùn has it’s team twin in Calaifornia- Paolo Alto- where there are a group of Scalea’s people that created a new overseas team. Today Terùn has become a large local sports association. In addition to purely sporting activities, it also deals with and promotes activities for young people and kids in the field of: sustainable mobility; healthy lifestyles; social inclusion; mental well-being trough sport; courses on safety device; cycle tourism. In fact, within its management team there are very professional figures: trainers, mountan bike instructors, fitness instructor, mental coatch and people which has always been part of social associations. Terun's greatest success was the organization of one of the largest cycling races in southern Italy the “GranFondo Tèrun”, a cycling race with 126 km of route and 1900 meters of altitude difference, among the most beautiful landscapes between Calabria and Basilicata, crossing coasts, hills and mountains
