We are the TUPONGOLOKI development association, in the local Umbundu language which means "Let us transform ourselves". A local, non-profit organization dedicated to community development, based in the city of Cuito, Bié Province, Angola. TuPongoloki was founded on November 20, 2020 and registered on page number 99 of the note book No. 1-U of the notary office of the Kilamba Kiaxe registry shop, Luanda on March 3, 2021 and was published in the Official Gazette III series, number 145 of September 15, 2021. We came about because we are bothered by the fact that "it is almost impossible for people in underserved communities to become the solution to the problems of their communities." We believe that human beings, as living beings, have the possibility to learn, change and exponentiate themselves, it all depends on the environment in which they are inserted and the stimuli that their minds are subjected to. Our mission is to "Transform the perspective of people in underserved (neglected) communities so that they transform their reality for flourishing." We operate in six areas namely sports, education, health, arts, environment, entrepreneurship/innovation, with which we seek to fulfill our vision of seeing the trap of deprivation in chronically poor families annulled, seen in two groups (i) street children and (ii) the Nangandjo community which is socially isolated/excluded. We believe that sport can bring hope where there was only despair (Nelson Mandela) and we use this belief to open doors of possibilities for children to rise as stars who will shine on the world's best stages. They will be like heroines and their light will return to their community to transform the destiny of those who cannot do it themselves. Clinging to our core values namely inclusion, focus, equity, prayer and hard work, we are driven by the motto unless transformed we cannot transform.
