A.M.E.C.E. (Association Maison d’Enfant pour la Culture et l’Éducation) Baity APS is a social promotion association founded in April 2000 with the aim of being a "common home" for school-age and preschool children from migrant backgrounds, with a particular focus on the Maghreb community. It was one of the first organizations in Turin to focus on immigrant youth, gradually specializing in Moroccan culture and education to meet the needs of the community, which at the time lacked a formal reference point in the city. Among its founders stands Mohamed Boussetta, who remains the association’s spokesperson in various contexts. In its early years, A.M.E.C.E. promoted its activities through word of mouth, but since 2003 it has strengthened its presence in the urban network by establishing collaborations with institutions such as the Office for Foreign Residents, the "Informagiovani" Youth Information Service, the Intercultural Service of the Municipality of Turin, and the Office for Culture and Social Services of the Moroccan Consulate. Driven by the desire to foster cultural exchange and dialogue between the immigrant community and the host country, A.M.E.C.E. has always focused on children and young people, considering them natural mediators and key actors in cultural integration. In recent years, the association has expanded its commitment through active participation in numerous international mobility projects within the Erasmus+ program. Thanks to these exchanges, many young people have had the opportunity to engage with peers from different European countries, enriching their personal and professional development through intercultural learning experiences. In this context, the A.M.E.C.E. Youth Group was created and has since grown into a dynamic collective that organizes and participates in events, workshops, and social activities, with the goal of promoting youth sociability, empowering young people, and helping them tackle current issues. This group is a key resource for the association, enabling young people to become agents of change and facilitators of new growth opportunities. Today, A.M.E.C.E. Baity APS continues its commitment to intercultural mediation, education, and the development of social, cultural, and sports projects, with the mission of building a more inclusive and diversity-conscious society.
