Youth Mosaic is a non-profit organisation based in Bondeno, a rural town in Northern Italy. We develop European and local projects that connect people, communities and experiences through participation, non-formal learning and cooperation. Our name reflects how we see our work: like a mosaic, different people, cultures, generations and experiences come together without losing their uniqueness, creating something stronger through participation and collaboration. We start from the realities of our rural context, where access to international opportunities is still limited, and use European cooperation to create connections beyond the local level. We work with young people and adults, including people with fewer opportunities and those facing social, economic or geographical barriers. Our approach is based on horizontal and intergenerational learning, where different experiences and forms of knowledge contribute equally to the process. How we work ° Rural realities in a European conversation - we bring the experiences and needs of smaller communities into international projects, while bringing new ideas, methods and connections back to the local level. ° Participation across generations - young people, adults and local actors contribute to activities, discussions and decisions, sharing responsibility for what is created through the project. ° Horizontal learning - we value knowledge coming from lived experience as much as formal expertise. Facilitators, participants and community members can all teach, question and learn from one another. ° Learning through real experiences - field exploration, community encounters, creative labs and co-creation connect learning with real places, people and situations. ° Social research as a design tool - our team includes two sociologists with experience in social research, helping us integrate needs analysis, community observation and participatory research into project development. ° Projects rooted in the community - we connect European activities with schools, municipalities, associations and other local actors, creating opportunities for ideas and relationships to continue beyond the project itself. Our experience includes projects on sustainable mobility, environmental responsibility, youth participation and digital democracy, applying this approach across different themes and contexts. What we bring to a partnership: a rural and community perspective, experience in non-formal and participatory learning, social research competences, work with people with fewer opportunities, and the ability to connect projects with local institutions, associations and communities. We can contribute to project design, facilitation, research, community engagement and local implementation. For us, the value of a European project lies in what continues afterwards: knowledge that is put into practice, relationships that remain, ideas that grow into new initiatives, and people who feel more able to contribute to the communities where they live.
