Three years ago a group of young enthusiastic women from Szarów got the idea of spending some time together . At first we wanted to find some company in our neighbourhood. But soon it turned out that our main objective was to create some means and powers for people living in our area. We were convinced that we could help them find and strengthen their abilities. That’s when there came an idea of creating our formal group. We easily found 15 members and started something that’s really great. Jasmina-the Modern Woman in the Countryside is the association which gathers women living in and around the area of Szarów. We share the same passions and still are different as far as our jobs and interests are concerned. Our mission is to undertake many various actions and for the time being most of them are internal. Here we go with some samples. From the very beginning we decided to take up Nordic walking. It seems to be a very nice way to keep fit and we go walking regularly. We encourage others, even not our members, to join us, too. It looks very similar with the action called “I like to move it!”. These are fitness classes which gather crowds of women on every Wednesday evening. They are free thanks to our internal instructor who works free of expense. Besides that on Fridays we have another group which works with the specialist of rehabilitation. Some of our actions are not so regular, they are taken up according to our needs. We have internal project called “With Culture” and within it we go to theatres and cinemas. There is also an interesting action of exchanging books and film discussion club. Other events are connected with “Taking care of Health and Beauty”. We invite some specialists, present cosmetics and exchange ideas. Some of our meetings were devoted to cuisine. We exchanged recipes, learned how to make cakes and invited interesting presentations of modern kitchen equipment, such as Thermomix and Tupperware. If the weather is good we visit interesting gardens, talk about plants, exchange them and ideas of taking care of the gardens and housekeeping in general. There are always good pieces of advice. And the last but certainly not the least of our internal actions was the ICT course. Thanks to hospitality of our school we could use its rooms and equipment. We are proud because we helped our residents to obtain basic knowledge and abilities needed to use computer and the Internet. They are now so much closer to the world and one another. Our members regularly take part in various courses and workshops. We understand the importance of learning. We want to get better. Now we know in practice how to raise funds for our actions. From September 2013 till the end of January we were doing internal project “Let’s help the youngsters experience the world”. Thanks to it the children from our kindergarten in Szarów had the possibility of taking part in extra classes of English, rhythmics and karate. From September 2013 till April 2014 we were running a day room for pupils in our neighbouring village Targowisko. There had been no offers for those children before and that’s why our classes found many participants. They enjoyed culinary, art, musical and technical classes, as well as integration plays. From January,2nd till the end of June 2014 we were taking part in an international exchange with young people from Turkey. That was the project called “Express Yourself Through Ornament”. We managed to raise funds from the European Union. Our students spent a week in the mountains with their Turkish friends. Bukowina Tatrzańska is a wonderful place of magnificent views and hospitable people. We had great time there learning English and improving social abilities. In May 2014 we raised funds from our municipal office for organizing an event in our school. It was dedicated to our patron Saint Jadwiga. We were responsible for the purchase of prizes for the best students in three contests and our task was also to find and rent costumes for a special play about our patron. This action shows how closely Jasmina cooperates with the school in Szarów . It also proves partnership with our Village Council. And our latest motion is just about it because it is taking part during The Days of Szarów at the end of June 2014. It is the event which will take place for the 16th time this year. The Days are the fantastic opportunity to present our aims, achievements and ambitions. We believe that our offer is a great advantage of Szarów, too. In July 2014 we spent on an international exchange with Spain. Our young people visited Bilbao. Last holiday we had guests from Spain in our village thanks to Erasmus +.
