Lumen manages a public center (FabLab Junior) dedicated to STEAM Education for children aged 6-14: it is the first in the Emilia-Romagna region and one of the few in Italy. The Association organizes workshops to stimulate STEM learning among children and training sessions for teachers and educators. Lumen also collaborates with local schools and youth centers and is the Lead Partner of local, regional and national projects aimed at promoting STEM and STEAM Education. It also works to overcome gender stereotypes and increase the number of girls choosing STEM educational careers. Lumen is also active in European projects and it is the Lead Partner of a project financed by REC Programme against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence online. FabLab Junior is part of Casa Corsini, a multifunctional public structure of the Municipality of Fiorano Modenese managed by Lumen and dedicated to social and collaborative innovation. Inter alia, Lumen organizes: - FabLab activities (e.g. production of objectives with 3D printers and laser cutter, etc.); - social activities (e.g. e-inclusion, also for immigrants or disable people) - professional qualification workshops (e.g. storytelling, etc.) - environmental activities (projects on electric mobility, aquaponics, etc.) - other activities (soft skills development, collaborations with local primary and secondary schools, universities, etc.) Among association’s members there are EU Project Managers with experience in Erasmus+, REC, ETC and other European programmes. We are willing to cooperate for the development and submission of project proposals with other European entities!
