Belarusian National Technical University, TRANSPORT COMMUNICATIONS FACULTY, departments BRIDGES AND TUNNELS

The Department "Bridges and Tunnels" was founded due to the pressing need for highly qualified specialists in bridge and tunnel construction caused by the decision to build metro in the capital. The first group of students numbering 50 people was transferred to the Department from the speciality "Highways". The results of the Department's research in the field of reinforced concrete bridge and tunnel construction, waterproofing of transport construction, and maintenance and reconstruction of bridges were recognized in the country and abroad. The Department's developments have copyright certificates (more than 200) and patents in the US, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, Sweden, and the UK. Dozens of small and medium-sized bridges in Belarus were built and reconstructed to the designs of the Department's students.
