CEMEA TARANTO

The purpose of CEMEA TARANTO is to disseminate the principles of the new education. CEMEA (Training Centers in Methods of Active Education) are an international movement of the New Education, popular education and a training organization involved in the fields of youth,nonformal education, social work, culture and international relationships. The organization operates principally in Taranto and their districts in these areas: 1. Training - We organize training workshops on several themes and addressed to different targets (teachers, adults, youngsters, entertainers, care-givers) in the area of Taranto or Puglia Region. We also participate with FITCEMEA in the organization of “Ludea” training (Free University of Active Education), which is composed of several stages throughout Italy. 2. school – we work a different levels with drop-out students: 2.1.1. families and teachers, it means to plan with them and theirs sons-students some different educational interventions for levels: 6/10 years - 11/14 years - 15/19 years. We make a networking to operate on emotional or behavioral problems, truancy, low academic performance, showing a lack of interest for academics, and expressing a disconnection from the school environment. inclusion of disabled students in classroom and classmate relationship. 2.1.2. we take care of earning disability, learning disorder and learning difficulty: Reading disorder (ICD-10 and DSM-IV codes: F81.0/315.00); Disorder of Written Expression (ICD-10 and DSM-IV-TR codes 315.2); Math disability (ICD-10 and DSM-IV codes F81.2-3/315.1); Non ICD-10/DSM. 3. Nursery school (preschool education) – we manage it in Martina Franca district, there we work with childhood (3 months/ 36 months) and their families. 4. Leisure (recreation) centers - Our organization develops and manages own educational and social projects in support of associations, social cooperatives, institutions. In this area we take account of persons rhythms and environmental resources, purposeful activity that includes the experience of leisure in activity contexts. 4.1. During summer holidays, we organize leisure centers for children from 3 to 15 years old in collaboration with the city of Taranto and with other partners. 4.2. Theater, reading group, traditional dancing, music, audio-video report, journal, environmental education, … 4.3. Ludobus - (play moment in square or street) education or outdoor education. 4.4. Parco cinofilo – relationship between family and their dogs (behavioral education) 4.5. Green area – in Martina Franca district we manage a green area to meet the people, play some sports, recreation moments with the families that live in the place. 5. Intercultural – improve the intercultural ability to develop knowledge in social and good practice, language, to encourage dialogue between students/adults of different cultures, beliefs and religions, education can make an important and meaningful contribution to sustainable and tolerant societies. This area expected through: 5.1. European mobility for adolescents (15-18 years); 5.2. Europe / International : organizing European seminars for youth workers, youth exchanges, placements abroad for youth workers, hosting and sending organization for European volunteers, organizing the mobility of young people drop out of school, participation in days of information on European devices. The target audience of the association is youth and adults participating in the actions and training and anyone interested in education. Mobility is part of the education of everyone, as an impulse to open their own minds in an intercultural perspective, which will bring a change in individual persons and in society.
