About Better World Better World Canada Foundation (BWCF) was created to advance education by providing adults (aged 18 to 39), who do not have proper access to education and practical experience to get into the job market or start their social enterprise. with educational training in capacity building, entrepreneurship and computer and technological skills. BWCF will also advance education by providing a series of workshops on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to the general public. While doing so, BWCF is dedicating its resources to help apply the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in all its programs. Based in Montreal, BWCF is committed to placing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the core of all its activities. We value persons from different walks of life, experience and perspectives. We believe that dialogue and building bridges can go a long way in creating a world where individuals care and help each other. Better World Canada Foundation is dedicated to advance education and in particular to help young entrepreneurs make their dream reality while being aligned with different levels of governments in their development goals. According to Statistics Canada, racialized women and men earn less than their non-racialized counterparts and face higher unemployment rates. We hence wish to expand entrepreneurial skills in Canada to remedy the unemployment challenge. Our Approach based on its mandate to advance education by: providing workshops, seminars, and courses about business and financial skills to the public, with a particular focus on youth who face social and/or economic marginalization; providing workshops and seminars about equity, diversity, and inclusion to the general public; providing employment-related and entrepreneurial training to Canadian youth in need; and to undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above-mentioned charitable purposes. Entrepreneurial program This program focuses on different aspects of starting and running a business, starting with how to write a business plan and compiling different skills needed to become a successful business manager. Mentorship program The mentorship program is constituted of two parts. Each beneficiary of the Entrepreneurial Project will be linked to two experts. One will be the responsible of project and the other, of mentoring. The responsible of project (ROP) will be the permanent link with the participants i.e. available for detailed follow up (once per week for two hours). As for the mentor, they will have to dedicate 3 hours per month to support the participant at a more strategic level. The selection of ROPs and mentors will be done on experience, qualifications linked to a particular field and interest in the beneficiary’s project. BWCF will serve to match participants of the Entrepreneurial Project with qualified volunteer mentors who have had their own companies since at least five years, and who can prove their success record (good financial status, increase in sales, and customer satisfaction).
