Cooperativa Mas Les Vinyes

Mas Les Vinyes is a permaculture farm located in Sant Martí d’Albars, a little village in the north of Barcelona, Spain. It is an ecovillage created in 2013 that is currently home for 10 residents plus temporary volunteers which aims to bring life back to the land through permaculture practices. This 25 hectares farm is designed with a permaculture approach, meaning that all the elements are connected so that not only we produce no waste but also we are increasing the soil fertility. We focus our energy in ecological food production with the veggie gardens and the food forests, but we also host Permaculture Design Courses (PDC), as the farm has become a renowned non-formal training center that provides courses in: - Regenerative agriculture - Natural building - Personal development - Water management - Holistic management with grazing animals We are also part of the Erasmus+ community since 2019 as we have been hosting ESC volunteers every year. Youngsters from around the world are invited to live long-term with the community and learn the day-to-day tasks that keep the farm alive. We have also hosted Youth Exchanges and Training Courses, as we count on enough accommodation and food service for 30 people. The cooperative Mas Les Vinyes also accompanies other agriculture projects who are trying to switch to regenerative practices with guidance and advice based on their 10 years of experience in the field and in the territory. In addition, we are part of the permaculture Spanish network (Permacultura Ibera and BiorNE) and are in with other local projects that work in the same direction. Mas Les Vinyes aims to keep serving as a starting point for people to learn how to change their life direction towards a greener future, as we believe it is essential to empower people by creating resilient communities. We are particularly worried about the future of the planet, especially climate-wise, which is the reason we focus our efforts on providing skills and knowledge to anyone willing to learn about permaculture.
