GOAL has an active role in the community by organizing socio-cultural events. It aims to be the main entry gate for the young people of this region in discovering non-formal learning opportunities in Europe in the areas of entrepreneurship, cultural awareness, environment protection, combating discrimination and healthy lifestyle. The reason why GOAL association encourages the youth in this direction is because it wants them to come back to the local community and take initiative to make a change for the better. The initiatives that were taken until now by the organization’s volunteers include: social inclusion actions, workshops on sustainable environment, social entrepreneurship businesses, active citizenship volunteering, rural development activities, gender equality promotion, youth empowerment support and boosting the importance of arts. GOAL’s main approaches refer to: a) Strengthening international cooperation by developing long-term partnerships that support intercultural exchanges in order to have an impact on the society in the partner countries. Thus, the organization stimulates civic and societal involvement and brings significant changes to the communities involved. b) Improving the civic vision by proposing effective volunteering activities for the benefit of the local communities based on non-formal methods. c) Prioritizing the non-formal educational system by creating a dynamic and professional learning environment where effective practices and alternative learning methods are used by the young people and the youth workers. d) Supporting environmental sustainability by organizing and facilitating activities to inform the public about the necessity of protecting and caring for our planet’s needs.
