Centro Zaffiria

Zaffiria works in the field of Media Education since 1998 and realizes projects in the field of media education, digital creativity and ICT with children, adolescents and educators in formal and non-formal education; manages the national Centre Alberto Manzi, based in the Regional Assembly of the Region Emilia Romagna. Since September 2023, Zaffiria has been running the LaVoratorio project, which is an historically relevant structure in design education in Italy - it was from here that Bruno Munari developed his method of workshops for children 'Giocare con l'Arte' (Playing with Art) presented in 1977 at the Brera Museum in Milan and promoted its dissemination in Italy and abroad. Zaffiria also manages 2 other spaces that are situated in the mountains of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia where art, culture, education and digital come together in direct with nature. Zaffiria coordinates and is partner of numerous local, national, as well as European projects dealing with media education, creative technology, toolkit production, pedagogical experimentation and training of operators in formal and non-formal education. Our initiatives include workshops, exhibitions, and interactive educational content aimed at enhancing critical thinking and creativity in the digital age. We were also involved in various European projects, that allowed us to carry on in-depth experiments and to exchange approaches and methodologies with partners from different countries on complex topics such as: Education, game and digital citizenship; Creativity and participation explored with media in school and extra school; Approach to technology and diverse disciplines in a creative way; Promotion of children’s and young people’s rights and their social participation through the creative use of media; Social cohesion; Human rights and intercultural education.
