EOHR

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1985. It is one of the oldest and most prominent Egyptian human rights organizations, officially registered under the Egyptian NGOs Law. EOHR works to promote and protect human rights, strengthen democratic values, and support vulnerable groups, with a strong focus on youth empowerment, education, gender equality, and child protection. The organization has extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale capacity-building programs, awareness campaigns, and advocacy initiatives across Egypt, particularly in Upper Egypt governorates. Key areas of expertise include: Youth empowerment and leadership development Combating violence against children, including school bullying and harassment Life skills and civic education Promoting inclusion of persons with disabilities Strengthening civil society and community participation Human rights education and training of trainers (ToT) Over the past four decades, EOHR has successfully implemented numerous projects in partnership with national institutions, notably the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), and various international donors. The organization maintains a strong field presence in Upper Egypt and has built a solid reputation for delivering high-quality, impactful, and sustainable interventions. EOHR possesses qualified technical and administrative staff, robust financial management systems, and clear safeguarding policies (including PSEA and child protection). The organization is fully committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, gender mainstreaming, and the “Do No Harm” approach.
