Ressun Nuorsuomalainen Klubi

Ressun Nuorsuomalainen Klubi is a club centered around economics, politics and other societal subjects, operating within Ressu upper secondary school. The purpose of our club is to unite fellow students sharing similar interests through our wide range of activities and events, providing our members with valuable opportunities for learning and mutual development. The core activities of our club consists of discussion events with significant people such as members of parliament, professors and other leading experts, in addition to organizing larger events such as election panels and trips abroad, as well as a wide range of visits to corporations, government entities and other organizations. Our ambition is to increase political activism and societal discourse between students in our school. Despite a tradition of Young Finnish liberal thought, our key goal is to remain strictly non-partisan. This way we insure a low threshold for political and societal activism between our members. Ressun Nuorsuomalainen Klubi also provides its members with a low-threshold opportunity to internationalize, for example through collaborations, study trips, and visits. The club places a particular emphasis on EU affairs. As evidence of this focus, the club has organized study trips to cities such as Brussels and Tallinn, in addition to organizing a European Parliament election panel in cooperation with the City of Helsinki, the European Parliament, and the European Commission. As a part of our mission to increase political, social and economic awareness in young people, we plan to engage in both Transnational Youth Initiatives and Youth Exchanges in the following years . We wish to find likeminded organizations, communities or clubs all over Europe to work on a shared goal of promoting not only youth activism, but also: -A more democratic and free Europe -Increased youth participation in decision making -A just and transparent legal system -Liberal economic and social values
