OULUN ARCTIC TIGERS RY

Oulun Arctic Tigers Ry is a non-profit, community-based sports and social wellbeing organisation established in Oulu, Finland, in September 2022. Our organisation was founded to bring people together through sports, community activities and multicultural cooperation, with a particular focus on young people and the international community in Oulu. We use sports such as football, badminton, cricket and table tennis as tools to promote physical and mental wellbeing, social inclusion, friendship, teamwork and active participation in society. Our organisation provides a welcoming environment where young people and community members from different cultural backgrounds can meet, participate, develop their skills and build meaningful connections. Target groups Our main target group is young people, particularly those from multicultural and international backgrounds. We also work with community members, newcomers, students and young adults who may benefit from opportunities for social participation, sports and community activities. We are interested in creating opportunities that help young people develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, leadership and intercultural understanding. Our activities Our regular and community activities include: Football and football wellbeing activities; Badminton and badminton wellbeing activities; Cricket and table tennis; Youth and community sports events; Multicultural and cultural events; Community gatherings and celebrations; Activities supporting newcomers and social integration; Volunteering and youth participation; International cooperation and European youth activities We believe that sport can be an effective way to connect people, reduce social isolation and create a positive and supportive community environment What we can offer as a partner As a partner organisation, we can contribute: Experience working with young people and multicultural communities Sports-based activities and wellbeing programmes Football, badminton and other recreational sports Volunteers and active community members Experience organising community and cultural events A multicultural environment in Oulu, Finland Local knowledge and connections with international communities Motivated participants interested in European learning and cooperation We are open to hosting, sending and participating in international youth activities where appropriate.
