Conseil Municipal des Jeunes - Valence

In 2009, the city of Valence created a youth municipal council. Since its start, this initiative is strongly supported by 45 teenagers (12-15 yo) and they are very enthousiastics about their work. It is to mention that the youth minicipal council is not a political organization. It is organized by the youth in the framework of the city council. To this purpose, a trip to the EU-Parliament in Strasbourg had been organized, where the teenagers had the opportunity to talk to varius MEP and also watch a plenary session. They were impressed and very interested to discover European democracy. We are looking forward for European youth projects with other organization working on similar topics.
