The Department of Youth Lleida City Council puts its efforts to benefit the youth of Lleida in three main fields: offers options for an active free time, provides resources that facilitate youth emancipation and encourages yu¡outh involvement. In the field of free time and involvement of the youth we propose the alternatives for a free time, that: Empower the participants: the youth are free to make decissions about their leisure choices and obtain support from the department to carry out these activities. Become an everyday space to make friends and to maintain equal relations. Create experiencies and provide training for the persons and for the groups. Integrate and encourage interralations between diverse young people, paying special attention to ensure the participation of youth from vulnerable environments Create context where persons can develop their. Critical thinking about everyday life. In order to achieve this, we use these three main instruments: The artistic creation: creative elements are the perfect tools of expression for youth (urban art, audiovisual arts, music and others). The sport: the fundamental elemental to work and to connect with youth. The solidarity, volunteering and work for the community: by today in our database there are around 400 registered volunteers that from time to time are interested in participating in different projects (children, elderly, people, environment, culture). In addition, we work hand in hand with 5 informal groups of young people, that continuously develop their own activities: Sense Son: the group of young people than plan, organize and carry out alternative leisure activities for the youth of the city. ARES: volunteers who are university students and who give academic support to secondary school students from families with few economical resources. Kooxacció: group young people who are interested in supporting projects of international cooperation. Group of yong people who are interested in environmental topics. Young reporters: group of young people who gets audiovisual training and covers different youth events. To add, the department of youth supports youth organizations that initiate their own projects for the youth of the city by providing economical support, equipment, infrastructure and by helping with logistics. Within this context, insertion of international dimension to our projects woul help us to achieve our goals by broadening the possibilities for coexistence and for development of abilities, also by encouraging social awareness and European cooperation.
