In 2021, the Youth Center Hrastnik became a part of the Public Institute for Culture, Sports, Youth and Tourism – KRC Hrastnik. KRC has expanded its mission with the youth activities and provides the necessary human, financial and technical resources for the integrated and quality implementation of different activities. It offers a variety of programs for different target groups kindergartens, schools, young people, the elderly and families. Its core activities are organisation of cultural activities, performances, cinema. KRC owns cultural halls, gallery, sports halls, indoor pool, stadium, museum, tourist info center, Europe Direct Zasavje point. In the above mentioned facilities (museum, TIC, Europe Direct) of the cultural and sports events in Hrastnik are hosted. These expand the possibility of participation and cooperation of employees of the youth center, who have the opportunity to organize in recognizable spaces and find the common points for the cooperation within the parent organization. That way, the Red Districts (KRC Hrastnik premises, Hrastnik Museum) and Slovenska nota festivals, and some sports workshops already take place. Youth center Hrastnik regularly performs the following activities: - inform young people about different opportunities on (inter)national level - presents young individuals with a vision, who can be role models for others - presents the participants of ESE/EVS in the local/regional environment - oganizes creative holiday workshops for children - organizes lectures and workshops on healthy life mental health, career opportunities, travel, sports, conversation evenings, art workshops, sewing workshops, music, photography, etc. - organizes concerts for young people and young at heart - implements social campaings (Book vanishing points, bird houses) and connects with other organisations (e.g. reading fairy tales on the World book day) - (co)organizes local festivals - Red Districts, Hrastkov Festival, Kamerat, Mesto živi, Hi Festival, Slovenska nota - employees regularly attend trainings and workshops where they strengthen their competencies in the field of youth, youth work, youth policy and international engagement ESE volunteers will be hosted by the Youth Center Hrastnik, which is located in the centre of Hrastnik but separately from KRC. The team of the Youth Center Hrastnik is experienced in different fields. They are dedicated to carrying out the youth program, promoting youth work and opportunities, and providing non-formal learning activities. These enable us to offer an environment where young people can develop their skills and competencies, which help them find a job. Through activities, they improve many competencies and abilities of young people and strengthen social inclusion, tolerance, solidarity, and organisational and language competencies. The youth centre is located in a former mine building. The multi-purpose hall partly serves as a small café (during the events) it also has a stage, suitable for concerts of various musical genres and occasionally other workshops and activities. Smaller space is used for seminars and courses. ESE participants will be involved in the regular activities of the MCH. Due to the nature of work and participation, they will be involved in the process of organizing festivals in a way that they attend / co-create the entire process of creating a local event with longer tradition (eg Red Districts) or with their first editions Slovenska nota, Kamerat). They will see and experience how the event is organized in a small environment that is still imbued with an industrial tradition. Moreover we will encourage volunteers to think and add a new content to the empty mine spaces. As we are more and more active in the virtual world, we will give the participants an opportunity to record and photograph the festivals and smaller events. Active work on the local/regional field usually goes hand in hand with firm connections and wider recognition. We cooperate
