Leaders of Life For Sustainable Development are based in Irbid, Jordan. They are a non-profit organization founded in 2012 by a group of young believers in the importance of providing knowledge and participatory development among young people. They employ unlimited abilities to innovate and develop projects that benefit the community, In addition to maximising the use of all available opportunities, and better future industry, dominated by concepts (Excellence, Renaissance, and upgrading). They offer youth programs, consultations for the youth of the city. Our Aims: • To increase the participation of youth and civil society institutions in society, and in the process of making the decision. • To empower youth, to help them improve their abilities and participate in developing their societies. • To depend on training as a methodology to develop education and achieving goals, where training programs run with needs. • To develop developmental methods and methodologies which work at innovation and creativity in solving the social issues which affect youth’s future and impact the progress of society. • To give private attention to the educational and artistic life through encouraging for reading, authorship, making lectures, seminars and activities and get interested in the country’s culture. • To promote the culture of rights, duties and responsibilities, and raise awareness of individuals and institutions about their duties, rights and responsibilities. • To promote the development in the economy field, through initiatives for supporting working opportunities especially those which provide training for unemployed youth, to support them and prepare them to go into labor market. • To incubate talents and energy and encourage creative ideas and support their founders and help them make it real projects with cooperating with the concerned sides. Target Groups: "Young people with fewer opportunities" when compared to their peers because they face one or more of the situations and obstacles listed (Social obstacles, Education obstacles, and Cultural differences), with aged (15-40) years. Projects and achievements of the organisation: Leader of Life projects often deals with employment/unemployment, social inclusion, urban/rural development. Our organization promotes the youngsters to write projects, they are giving the chance for them to participate in different activities, programs like camps, trainings (journalism, writing projects, volunteering), forums with the local decision-makers and with other organisations. They have several thematic group activities for different kinds of youngsters, such as art activities, sports activities, environmental activities too. Here below some of what we have done so far in short: • Trip to the future Initiative: It is an integrated learning initiative aiming to provide guidance, empowerment, and entertainment. This initiative began with primary classes from ninth to tenth-grade students in private schools in the governorates of Irbid and Amman, in order to provide students with a mature goal for their future lives, and help them discover their talents and develop their skills approaching five target groups: the student, the school, the teacher, parents, colleagues and the community and aiming to continuously upgrading them and their communities. This program is sustainable and extends to 12 hours of training and 100 students, 30 teachers, 10 parents and 30 volunteers have benefited from such a program. This year, the initiative has been developed and applied at the level of the largest private schools in addition to UNRWA schools in some camps, and the launch of such initiative in universities started in Yarmouk University, and currently, we are going to launch in public schools after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Education. • Work together initiative: This initiative aiming to revive solidarity and communication among communities.
