About Organization
Arrimage Good'îles is a non-profit association for intercultural exchanges and local development based in Guadeloupe. It was created in 2014. It designs and implements international cooperation projects in the way to improve the competences of people in island regions in the fields of employment, entrepreneurship and civic education. Its target groups is young people, women, adults with fewer opportunities due to geographical, social and economic obstacles (low level of training or high unemployment rate) within the French overseas regions (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, Guyana). Activities of the organisation are in partnership with local and international actors are as follows: - International mobility : In a particular context of insularity, international mobility should not be conceived only as a means of "getting out of isolation" but as a means of developing key competences for better social and professional integration. The activities are: Sending young people for voluntary missions abroad. Indeed, the European Solidarity Corps (CES) program offers learning opportunities in the non-formal education sector to increase mobilization of JAMOs towards international mobility. - Participation in training seminars on topics of interest to young people and youth workers such as access to rights, health, etc. training and support for setting up European projects for associations, local authorities, independents, etc.. Capacity building of audiences in the areas of citizenship, entrepreneurship and mobility. With its experience in the management of European projects, Arrimage Good’îles has developed a support methodology as close as possible to structures (associations, local authorities, independents, etc.) combining non-formal education and practical support. Arrimage Good’îles initiates and implements local development projects in response to the economic consequences of Covid on youth: such as in 2021 "My island, my territory # I get involve! "Which follows 20 young NEETs (neither in training, internship or job) to be supported in the creation of their activity / company within the Social and Solidarity Economy. - Center Europe Direct Antilles -Guyane label Since May 2021, Arrimage Good’îles has been the Center Europe Direct (CED) Antilles - Guyana for the islands of Guadeloupe. For the first time, the European Commission is granting a Center Europe Direct label in the Antilles Guyana, an area which was not previously covered by the Europe Direct network. At the local level, Arrimage Good’îles becomes a privileged intermediary between the European institutions and the citizens of the islands of Guadeloupe to allow: - the dissemination of information on policies pursued by the European Union - the access for all to European informations
