The Fundació Catalunya Voluntària -FCV collects the testimony of Barcelona Voluntària, a non-profit organization, which was born in 1999 by the hand of three young Catalans. Since September 1999, the Barcelona Voluntària Association has participated in various projects and accumulated considerable experience, until occupying a prominent place among the entities that work in the international youth field. In 2007, the Barcelona Voluntària Association became the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària following the same spirit and philosophy, being an instrument of civic and social training. The FCV is defined as a space for training and non-formal education and a project promoter whose objective is to offer people of all ages the opportunity to develop their skills through their active participation in educational and social actions, with a positive impact on their communities. Since its inception, and throughout its trajectory, the FCV has always carried out programs and actions so that young people who wish to find it facilities to participate in voluntary actions, promoting active volunteering, understood as a solidarity, inclusive and participatory experience, and that responds to your interests and abilities. For this reason, it promotes voluntary actions focused on results and with the capacity to offer real training opportunities and to encourage young people to be supportive, contributing their capacities and talents. The FCV actively promotes volunteering and non-formal education as methods to improve society, as opportunities to develop key competencies and as means to become more active, autonomous and responsible citizens. It offers information, support and training, organizes campaigns, conferences, workshops and promotes innovative initiatives aimed at the promotion and social recognition of volunteering, the Culture of Peace, non-formal education and intercultural training. In addition, it actively collaborates with other non-profit entities, networks, people and institutions on a local, regional and international scale. The FCV operates within the framework of 3 programs: -'Catalans / es al Món ': favors the development of key competences in young people through training programs and international mobility, and makes it possible for Catalan non-profit organizations to participate in international networks and events. The FCV is the coordinating and promoting entity of transnational European Volunteer projects, trainings, seminars, youth exchanges and professional practices. -'Voluntariat Actiu ': favors the active participation of young people in actions of volunteering, in Catalonia and throughout Europe, and offers training and advice to Third Sector entities to promote the concept of active volunteering, understood as inclusive volunteering (for all people), participatory, formative and focused on results. -'Clam per la Pau ': favors the participation of youth leaders in awareness-raising and training actions dedicated to the construction of Peace and the transformation of conflicts and carries out projects to build networks of entities at an international level, in the field of Peace, education in human rights, non-violence, intercultural dialogue and democratic participation. The FCV is an active member of the Barcelona Youth Council -CJB, the Red BCN Antirumors -XBCNA, the Coordinator of Poble Sec Entities, the Catalan Federation of Social Volunteering -FCVS, the Spanish network of the Anna Lindh Foundation Intercultural Dialogue -ReFAL, the United Network of Young Peacebuilders-UNOY) and the International Association for Volunteer Effort- IAVE, among others.
