About Organization
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is a non profit and public body organisation, established in 1993 in Antalya,Turkey. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality International Relations Department has two major responsibilities. First, our department organizes and coordinates all activities related to international relations of the Municipality. Second, European Union projects are prepared and implemented by our department. International Relations department has two offices inside Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. We are twenty people, coordinating all international relations and projects of the Municipality. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is responsible for the cultural and social development and needs of the migrants living in Antalya as defined in the legislation stated in the Law on Municipalities. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality cooperates with all kinds of national and international networks, NGOs and associations to inform young people about European and foreign opportunities and to contribute to the social, cultural, artistic, scientific and professional development of young people and to actively participate in social and economic life. In our previous youth projects, our aim was to make youth of Antalya to participate actively. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality develops and implements projects in various local, national and EU programs which involve a larger number of volunteers in different project activities.Our organisation is coordinating national and international projects and works on youth activism, youth mobilities, inter cultural learning. Municipal departments and non-institutional partnerships are provided by the directorate in particular for the dissemination and dissemination of non-formal education activities. It also organizes project trainings and is a Eurodesk Contact Point, informs young people about European opportunities as a member of Turkey EURODESK Network since 2010.
