About Organization
Identifying the local needs, we promote the WELL-BEING of the population by CONNECTING people to social solutions, DEVELOPING core skills and EMPOWERING them to become active citizens, contributing to a balanced and sustainable SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT. Aiming to be a link between people and solutions for the local and global problems, our approach is based on a global vision with a psychosocial and educational intervention, and thus contributing to a positive impact on sustainable social development, considering each person as a key agent for change. The values that define us and for which we stand for are: Respect and empathy for the other; Valuing the person and human rights; Tolerance and intercultural dialogue; Promotion of equality; Cooperation for social justice; Sustainable Development; Animam Viventem is organized in 5 different departments/branches: - +Youth – Creating life changing opportunities for every young person, working with them to build resilience, promote inclusion and ultimately empowering them. We provide a broad range of actions designed to enable a holistic approach tackling social disadvantages, educational programmes, community outreach, volunteer programs, employability and entrepreneurial skills, among others. - +55 (promotion of active ageing with seniors) - +Sport (promotion of healthy lifestyles) - +Personal Development (low cost counselling and coaching services) - +Sustainable development (activities to promote the sustainable development goals of the United Nations) We are part of “Cascais Social Network”, a structure that incorporates more than 100 local entities, public and private, with responsibilities within the local social development, promoting a partnership work and the qualification of social intervention in the community.
