Goodsurfing

Goodsurfing is an NGO that initially grew up from a social media page in VK, which is now encompassing over 70 000 Russian-language speaking people throughout the world. We aim to promote volunteering as a meaningful and accessible way of traveling and exploring the world. We particularly focus on promoting volunteering opportunities that contributing to the well-being of certain communities. We use three main tools to achieving this aim: - Goodsurfing Platform, a web-site that brings together host organizations and prospective volunteers; - Goodsurfer magazine, an online monthly publication in Russian and English languages presenting the stories of real volunteers and host organizations with various travel life-hacks; - Goodsuring - Community, a web-site that provides online lessons on various aspects of volunteering activities. Our activities are carried out basing on the following principles of our organization: 1. Volunteering is meaningful (the projects that we are promoting should have a real impact/contributions) 2. Volunteering is free (participants should not pay any registration/membership fees to join volunteering projects) 3. Volunteering is transparent (the projects should have equal access for people of various backgrounds) 4. Volunteering has quality (the projects should be checked, evaluated and improved basing on feedbacks)
