About Organization
The Spanish National Academy defines "being on the sidelines" as that which has no intervention in the matter to be dealt with. And our space is an invitation catapult all that culture that until now has existed on the sidelines together. This dream shared by several local theater artists takes possession of a space located on the right side of the river Tormes, in the beautiful city of Salamanca. "Espacio almargen" (Translated like "on the sidelight") is mainly dedicated to the exhibition and creation of performing arts, programming workshops and shows for all ages. We have been a meeting point for all kinds of arts and all kinds of cultural events for several years, we connect critical spectators with inquisitive creators, working to unblock passive roles. We exist because culture does not have to be luxury, it is actually a network that we all weave together. Almargen is the non-profit cultural association, in charge of managing this common place, we do not seek to create an industry, or make money, for this reason the contributions of the spectators-partners serve only to pay the expenses of the artists and maintain the space enabled in perfect conditions. We have chosen the name contribution because it is not about charging tickets, but about promoting a collective effort that allows both the space and its activities to exist.
