About Organization
OZ Embla is a non-profit civic association located in the mountain settlement of Zaježová in Central Slovakia, surrounded by forests, meadows, and traditional rural architecture. Our mission is to protect and revive traditional craftsmanship, sustainable agriculture, and environmentally conscious living while creating a meaningful place for learning, community life, and personal growth. Our daily activities are shaped by the rhythm of nature and the seasons. We run an ecological farm focused on regenerative grazing, horse and cattle breeding, and the creation of edible forest gardens. In parallel, we maintain craft workshops where we teach blacksmithing, woodworking, and natural building techniques, often through practical, hands-on experience. Embla works with young people, volunteers, and visitors from Slovakia and abroad who wish to experience a simple, self-sufficient way of life close to nature. We believe that by reconnecting people with manual work, traditional knowledge, and ecological values, we contribute to a more sustainable and responsible future for both individuals and communities.
