About Organization
Casa d’Abóbora is a youth association based in Aldeia, a low-density area in the Cinfães region of Portugal. We advocate for social, cultural, and economic sustainability with a strong sense of community and ecology. Our main objectives are to preserve, promote, and invigorate the cultural heritage; and encourage the cultural dynamism of the low-density rural area of the Cinfães municipality. Our mission is reflected in the promotion of socio-cultural and artistic activities that aim to foster connections in the community Our vision is to build an intergenerational and sustainable network that values, preserves, and energizes local socio-cultural heritage. We also seek to encourage discussion on issues related to rural life and its depopulation,implementing activities and projects in areas such as youth participation, adult education, intergenerational integration, migrant inclusion, entrepreneurship, isolated people, among others. In this way, our target group is all people who live in the rural area of Cinfaes. In detail, we work with young, adult and old people, migrant groups, local cultural actors, etc. We advocate for social, cultural, and economic sustainability with a strong sense of community and ecology. Therefore, our essential focuses are social action, mutual respect, personal and collective integrity, compassion, and sharing.
