Teatro Rumore

Teatro Rumore is a theatre association based in Viareggio, training children and young people from 5 to 26 years old. We place special emphasis on nurturing each pupil's specific set of skills, talent and personality, making them feel valued and appreciated. Our work is mostly based on topics such as social exclusion, politics, racism, current and historical issues, which we address with a humorous approach. We are currently looking for partners working in the field of Theatre of the Oppressed to organise a youth exchange based in Viareggio. The idea is to organise a youth exchange between theatre companies for teenagers/young people and youth associations, in order for the young participants to attend theatre of the oppressed workshops + other activities and workshops to raise their awareness about active citizenship and social change. The objectives of the project are: - Allowing the organisations involved to share and exchange methodologies and theatre techniques to enrich their inventory of activities and experiences - Teaching participants the techniques of the Theatre of the Oppressed as tools to analyse, tackle, and compare the challenges that characterise their communities - Organising targeted and specific activities to offer participants an opportunity for discussion with peers from different countries on the topics of active citizenship and aggregation spaces for young people - Promoting the organisation by each partner at a local level of festivals, performances or workshops of the Theatre of the Oppressed, thus applying what has been learned during the exchange to their own communities in order to increase interactions with it - Issuing participants with a Youthpass Certificate as a form of recognition of their informal learning experience - Producing an audiovisual document and an information booklet about the results of the project and the methodologies of the TdO as a tool for analysis and social change. These documents will be promoted through the websites and social networks of the partners involved.
