Sirius - Centre for psychological counseling, education and research

Centre Sirius is a centre for psychological counseling, educational training and research. It was founded on 27 July 2006 with the goal of promoting, implementing and advancing psychological and psychosocial assistance and support in order to prevent risky behaviour and improve quality of life for individuals, families, marginalized groups and organisations. Sirius provides counselling and education to children, youth, adults, families and organisations faced with everyday problems. Moreover, Sirius organises expert seminars, lectures, courses and workshops. Most of our work can be comprised under the following activities: - Prevention of unacceptable behaviour among children and youth (substance abuse, violence, behavioural disorders, developmental disorders, etc.) - Improvement of the rights of the children and youth from alternative care - Improvement of quality of life of marginalized groups through education, specialized trainings, psychosocial support, raising public awareness and group and individual counselling (social assistance beneficiaries, long term unemployed, persons with disabilities) - Improvement of cooperation between relevant stakeholders in public sector, local authorities and civil society - Educational programs for improvement of parenting skills and foster parents’ skills - Vocational guidance - Implementation of short educational and consulting activities for institutions and organizations - Evaluation of projects and programs.
